http://www.mpcclub.com/modules.php?name ... 962#169962Firmware 1.3.110 worked so well for months. The longest period of it working so well with no audio faults and then that happened.
Hi there folks. The dvico 6500 i use has 1.3.74
Tempted to try that .148 version because my one on fast rewind skips ahead before it starts to rewind. If it fixes that I may give it a go.
Will you be sellng the 6600 ?
I would like a player to play from youtube and from other sites.
Should I go 6600 or asrock or is there something else?
What about netgear 9150 ?
Firmware 1.3.148 so far so good. Follow the instructions at:

As for the Dvico 6600, I've decided not to sell them or even buy one for myself. The reason is fairly simple. Far to many firmware related problems all the way along. Once is enough. There have been times when it has worked for a few months without the need to update the firmware. I rather not go through all that again.
The Netgear EVA9150 are available but the price tag is way to high for a Sigma SMP8635 player.
I've decided to go for the ASRock ION330 with a 320Gb WD 7200rpm hdd and 4Gb Kingston RAM. I'll not place a slow drive that is only 5400rpm in any of my PC's. I thought about the ASRock ION330-BD version but have no need for a Blu-Ray drive for the ASRock or anything else. DVD will do me nicely. By the time I need a BD drive they'll be a lot chepaer than what they are now.
WD has a 750Gb and 1Tb 2.5" drives on the way which are the size used in the ASRock. Plan to try the WD 1Tb 2.5" drive due out later this year.
I plan to install XBMC on WinXP Pro. When ever Win7 comes out I'll move up to that.
The boot time on the ASRock using Instant Boot with Win7 installed is a very impressive 4 seconds which will appeal to many.
XBMC plays FLV(Flash Video) along with many other types of videos.
Win7 though has its own playing software and there are some add on programs which look so much nicer on Win7 than using XBMC.
